Reduce
landfill
It is estimated that over 18 million
cartridges are sent to landfill in
Australia each year. Each remanufactured
cartridge you buy is essentially one
more cartridge that you have saved
from entering landfill.
Save Resources
Up to 3.4L of oil is needed to make
one new cartridge. In Australia, printer
cartridge re-use could save up to
4.95 million litres of oil per year.
As an industry, remanufacturing cartridges
already conserves more oil per month
than was spilled by the Exxon Valdes
in 1989, but there’s still a
lot more to be saved. In addition
to the oil, vast amounts of water
and electricity are also used in manufacturing
a new cartridge.
Reduce C02 Emissions
Some studies have shown that for
each new cartridge up to 7kg of carbon
dioxide are emitted during the manufacturing
process. A remanufactured cartridge
reuses many of the components of the
new cartridge which can enable the
cartridge to be produced with around
50% less carbon emissions than an
OEM cartridge. But a 50% carbon emission
saving v.s.
OEM simply wasn’t enough for
us so we decided to make our remanufactured
products carbon neutral.
